Rachel Blumberg is best known as an inventive, creative drummer who has played, toured, and recorded with heaps of wonderful bands and musicians including Michael Hurley, The Decemberists, M. Ward, Tara Jane O'Neil, Lori Goldston, Mirah, Sam Beam, Laura Gibson, Bright Eyes, Mirah, Death Vessel, Old Unconscious, Norfolk & Western, and many more. She is a current long time member of the experimental rock band Califone and also has her own solo project Arch Cape where she plays improvised percussion and other instruments to her animated film. She is also a visual artist who works in paint and animation, and has made music videos for folks like Gillian Welch and Iron & among others.
