"One mans trash is another mans treasure"

After days of searching the Los Angeles streets for a very specific piece we discovered this mini TV set left out in a trash pile.  I took it home and during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, took out an orange spray paint can, put on my favorite  gas mask and went to town!

This TV represents the way society learns about other cultures and how the images they see form their own bases and stereotypes. The song "The Blacks", which began as a mixed media collage featuring notable Black figures in American History quickly grew into something bigger than life! I'm very proud of this particular piece of art as just like all good art, the song and video came into fruition naturally and organically, stemming from the seed planted by what was happening in our world during the Spring/Summer of 2020.
