This is a one of a kind art piece depicting some graffiti I encountered on a post-tour exploration through Portugal in 2013. The translation was inspirational to me, meaning “No one can dream for you”. I recorded a song with that in mind, and had it pressed to lathe. My recreation of the wall art with wood and fire accompanies the recording. “I Belong To The Old” was recorded in 2014 at Type Foundry Studio in Portland, Oregon. It is a meditation on times of transition, and contemplation of old worlds vs new.
