Released in 2020, "Guilty Pleasures" is our debut EP. Each of the 4 songs was written, recorded, and produced at "The Chateau" our old house in Highland Park, CA. We must have written 300 tunes before finally locking in something we were all stoked about and now call the Wake the Wild sound. We printed 50 vinyls for this first run and this was the only special misprint, signed by lead singer Zach Sorgen, where the face on the front cover is slightly discolored to aqua in the face when it was supposed to be black. This is a true one of one.

On the record, Forrest Mitchell plays drums, Zach Sorgen sings, and Chase Jackson plays guitar, bass, and handles most of the production elements on the computer. Track 1 and lead single "Guilty Pleasures" is about giving into your deepest desires. The excitement of embracing temptation is reflected in the interlocking rhythms and smooth R&B chords. Track 2 "Alone Together" is a funky House bop to lift people up in a time of isolation and social distancing. But also about cutting out distractions and outside noise to focus on your partner. Track 3 "Dark Side" features Naiim is about getting past the surface level or highlight reel and actually getting to know someone on a deeper level. Track 4 "Girlfriend" is a tongue in cheek funky house track about keeping it light and riding on good vibes.
