We just stopped by the studio to get some sandwiches and hang out with our buddy Cory.  We had all our instruments because we were on our way home from a gig on the coast. We got offered to make a tape, so we decided to play one of our favorite songs, “The Waltz of the Wind,” which is really special to us. It’s a Hank Williams song—a really special old song that was recommended to us by Michael Hurley’s first wife, Pasta, whom we just met at his memorial a couple weeks ago—very special connection, special song, special opportunity.  The B-side is called “I’m Growing Fonder,” and it’s Fats Waller, who we consider one of our patron saints. We love Fats Waller so much. I like to bring those old songs that are completely buried, like the B-sides no one’s heard before that are so special. We like to bring those back and bring them into the modern times.
