Tom Pritchard and I formed Western Scene in 2011 in Echo Park, CA. Tom had finished up making a record with his previous band Dynamite Walls that ended up getting shelved by Universal Records. We decided to come together and start talking about a new project and direction. With that said, Tom mentioned he always wanted to use the name Western Scene as a song title or band name and we both immediately were on the same page with a sound that we wanted to create. We set up shop in Tom's studio for a couple of days to write some demos of what would eventually become our first and only EP.  After about 2 weeks, we gathered some friends in our studio and flushed out the kinks of each song and took the final products into the studio to cut 6-7 songs and press a super limited vinyl run. We used the now defunct Rainbow Records pressing plant to produce only 50 records in total to be sold at our first show. We sold out of the records right away and I kept one for myself. This is the last available Western Scene 45 vinyl record that I know of. With Jonathan Hischke on bass and Dan Elkan on guitars, both of whom played with Broken Bells, along with drummer Joey Waronker (R.E.M, Beck, Roger Waters), Tom and I captured exactly what we wanted in regards to a Western Scene.  This record lives in the clouds of spotify where you can stream all day but this is the last remaining copy in the physical form where you can put your hands on this vinyl record and hear the good old analog sound.  This is truly a unique item as it's the last of its kind.
